Cantilever Rack in Myrtle Beach, SC
Cantilever rack supports long materials on arms rather than enclosing them between front uprights. Lumber, pipe and building-supply bundles need support positions that follow their length, weight and handling method.
Socastee’s trade-shop bays, Murrells Inlet’s US-17 Bypass warehouses and Georgetown’s manufacturing sites differ in scale. We plan new cantilever systems around the material and the room required to turn it, not around a generic pallet bay.
Arm Spacing Follows the Bundle
Record the shortest and longest stock lengths, bundle weight and how the load is lifted. Arm capacity is only one part of the specification: column capacity, arm spacing and the number of support points must suit the intended materials. Mixed lengths may need separate sections.
Long loads can sweep across more space than the truck itself. Check the approach aisle, door opening and turning path with the full bundle. Putting a row near a roll-up door may look convenient on paper but still leave the operator unable to turn into the working aisle.
Small Bays and Manufacturing Storage
Socastee includes roughly 2,000 sq ft units in Ricks Industrial Park. Murrells Inlet has both 14 ft ceiling office-warehouse units and Key Largo space with roughly 25 ft vaulted ceilings. Georgetown’s Pennyroyal industrial land serves rail- and water-linked manufacturing needs. Those settings require different rack heights and material-handling arrangements.
Building-material demand follows the Grand Strand’s residential and commercial construction growth. Separate frequently picked lengths from bulk bundles and reserve a receiving area for incoming material. A selective pallet row can hold packaged items while cantilever arms carry longer stock.
Finish and Crew Staging Near the Coast
Salt air and high humidity make powder coat versus galvanized finish worth discussing, particularly for open-dock or unconditioned storage. Describe the exposure and the material being stored when reviewing the system.
Schedule installation so long components have an unloading path and the crew has room to assemble columns and arms. Hot summer conditions and storm-season preparations should be considered when releasing the work area.

Cantilever Rack Questions
What size pallet rack do I need?
Standard 48-inch deep pallets usually sit on 42-inch deep uprights. Common beam lengths are 96 inches for two 40-inch pallets, plus 108 and 144 inches for wider loads. Height comes from your clear height and the forklift's lift height. Measure your real pallets before choosing.
How much weight can pallet rack hold?
There is no single number. Beam capacity is stated per pair, per level, and frame capacity depends on frame height and beam spacing. We size beams and frames from your heaviest pallet, and the rated capacities go on load plaques at the installation.
Do you install the rack?
Yes. We handle design, supply and installation, with the work performed by experienced installation crews we schedule and manage.
